Tessa grew up as your average child in the city. School, friends. You might even say there was nothing special about her. Her parents devotedly went to church day and night - her father was the current pastor there. Tessa however didn't share their belief in religion.
She also had a curfew - always be in before sunset, and like a good little girl she never questioned it. But Tessa loved the night, and once in a while she would defy her parents by slipping out her bedroom window. One night's mishap led her into a small cafe called 'The Cat's Eye' where she met her new sire, Viral Shuukakshamaru Ashenvale.
Her turning was not a pleasant one. For what ever reason Viral forced Tessa into one of his kind and led her into the shadows where she would start a new life. An undead one, but one she now couldn't live without. Over a short period of time a party was held her honor where she was introduced to the Ashenvale line. Her new family. Even though it was quite a turn out, to this day Tessa still runs into new cousins, aunts, and uncles every now and then.
Her human life wasn't really that undesirable, but the start of vampire life wasn't that pleasant either. At first, she thought she was adjusting well. Keeping her feeding habits in check, living by night. It all seemed too easy until she met Dee, a human teenage run away. Human emotions still lingered in Tessa and she felt pity on the girl, taking her under her wing. With the way things were going, having a human live in her apartment should have been easy if she kept to blood bags.. She couldn't have been more wrong.
As time went by, Tessa started to miss the sun , the taste of regular food.. Just - LIFE! She yearned to be human again so badly it started to drive her insane. Blood lust started to get the better of her.
She endlessly craved for blood and left many bodies in the alleyways. Fed without a care of who she hurt. Eventually she went after her then boyfriend Taliesin Elisedd while they were on the run. She had him trapped in the cab of an eighteen wheeler and almost killed him from how much blood she consumed. Because of what Taliesin was, Tessa was able to walk in sunlight again for a short time, but she lost her strength, her increased healing. Practically human. And it only made her want to be human even more. She lost control.
Thirsting. Hungry. Blood.
It wasn't until the time Tessa attacked her own sire did she realize just how dangerous she became.
She kept herself the confines of her apartment, starving herself afraid to hurt anyone else. She even forced Dee into a boarding school outside of the city where Tessa thought she would be safe. But it didn't last long. Over a short period of time thirst won her over, driving her out of her apartment. She fed again without any self control or aware and was eventually caught by the Cross. They brought her to an abandoned building/ facility where they intended to kill her.
The table was cold, and the straps held strong no matter how hard she fought. She was thirsty, so thirsty.
While strapped to that table Tessa learned her parents little dirty secret. It wasn't church they had been attending to at night. They were the chairmen of the Cross - the leaders. At age 25 Tessa was supposed to be brought in for initiation and take their place. Since she was turned she was considered a traitor and had to be killed.
Viral, Taliesin, and a family friend Tessa came to know of as 'Sepukku' infiltrated the building and destroyed the facility in their attempts to save Tessa, but by the time they reached her room, the vampiress was already gone.
She ended things with Taliesin, and took only what she could carry then left the city without warning. In her absence, the Cross discovered her living whereabouts and set her apartment ablaze, reducing it to ashes. Only to their disappointment did they not find the vampiress inside.
Two years passed and Tessa returned a better vampire. She became a full powered vampiress, and found a new apartment which she was forced out of months after when the Cross discovered she was back in the city. She now resides in the Ashenvale manor and works as a bartender for her sire's lounge (The Kirin Lounge) in the Obsidian Underground.
